About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) and a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP). I work with individuals, couples, and groups to address a wide variety of mental health concerns in my private practice.

I graduated from the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY) in 2002 with a Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health. Following completion of my graduate degree, I worked on the faculty of Monroe Community College teaching courses in Interpersonal Communication and Crisis Communication. During this time, I also worked as a clinical research coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester supporting studies related to depression and suicide, and as a research therapist for studies investigating the efficacy of Interpersonal Therapy for the treatment of trauma symtpoms related to childhood sexual abuse, and Motivational Interviewing for acute suicidal ideation. From 2005 to 2011, I worked as a primary therapist in the Adult Ambulatory Clinic of Strong Behavioral Health, and began specialized training in group psychotherapy.

In 2011, I transitioned to full-time work in my private practice. My continuing education has focused on mindfulness, attachment issues, and the therapist’s use of self. Special training in modern psychoanalytic techniques through the Center for Group Studies in New York City heavily influences my current work.
